Argentine Chef by Katriel Menéndez
Katriel Menéndez is an Argentine-American chef by profession and has been in love with culinary art almost from his first heartbeat. He is a clear example that dreams come true if you work hard. His life was never easy: economic problems, among others, and many times there was a lack of food at home; but this did not discourage him, on the contrary, he used his talent and ability to help his family. At the age of 12, he was baking bread, while his brother took care of selling it. And this was only the beginning of his efforts.
What kept Katriel firmly on the path of sacrifice was a clear objective: to become a professional chef and seek through this, to delight people who had the opportunity to hire his service.
As all progress needs knowledge, he entered a cooking university to perfect his techniques and improve his results. Since, until now, he only had culinary teachings that his family had given his.
His desire to always go for more, looking for new adventures and experiences, drove him to travel around the world in search of new recipes, techniques, and flavors.
He firmly believes that constant inspiration and learning are part of the daily life of a good chef.
That is why he has traveled the five continents in search of perfection: Argentina, Dominican Republic, Dubai, Thailand, Senegal, France, Spain, Italy, Bangladesh, México, Guatemala, Suriname, Turkey and Iceland.
Today he considers the United States his home, where he raised his family, started his traditions, and began his business. With hard work as his emblem, his recipes and products translate into culinary delights that seek to satisfy and bring happiness to diners, who love to enjoy combinations of good flavors and the moment.
Recently, a bakery full of delicacies, Tango Pastry, joined the Argentine Chef family. Adding to the previous businesses set up by Katriel: Argentine Feast, a feast held at Boondoggie Farm; Nativo Spices, a line of spice blends; and Argentine Chef's own business, which offers cooking classes, private events, themed private dinners, and culinary consulting for companies and entrepreneurs.
In the quest to share authentic experiences and products unique to the area, his heart and desires remain focused on the same thing: spreading the gastronomic culture of his native country through cooking.
